Laundry Day

Our pugs have a large crate in our laundry room, that they sleep in.  On top of it is where the feeding bowls are prepared and the laundry baskets set.  On the wall above are shelves with all the dogs needed items, meds, brushes, Belle's diapers etc. And also mounted to the wall is a large container that hold the pugs dry dog food, over the laundry baskets . It's a great setup and allows me room also for my pull down ironing board.   This morning started as laundry day and when I got the baskets I found I had been a little messy with the dry food.  Gotta be more carefull or I'll be washing clothes and dog food together.  YUK!

Finally the start of a new friendship

The most recent addition to our fur family was SHELLY, a rescued 8 year old Golden Retreiver, that was adopted in late June.  She is a great match for our family, but she has not been interested in buddying up with the pugs. Her socializing with them has been a top priority effort for me.   They are used to having a golden around.  Up until mid December of 09, we had Tela.  She had been with us since she was six weeks old and 14 1/2 years later she left us after suffering a stroke.  She was a sleeping buddy to Belle, our oldest pug and a momma to Toby and Polly.  Last night, we had a first, Shelly hopped on the sofa and Belle followed her, via her steps, and they laid side by side.  I grabbed the camera and with a little work got a great picture.  I know now that Shelly is learning what family is all about.

Old toys out of the attic

When our kids were small, I would rotate toys from their rooms the to the top of the closet.  One day last week, while placing some things in the attic, I saw a basket of dog toys that was in rotation.  I brought down a few and it was like they were new again, Great to know the process still works.
